Starting out in high school and deemed “average” through an intelligence test, Steve Farrell went on to found two high-growth technology companies in Silicon Valley. He learned that this kind of success rewarded “doing,” but the real prize in life lied in “being.” His ultimate expression of his own gifts? Co-founding Humanity’s Team, a non-profit focused on helping people around the world awaken to their deeper selves and the interconnectedness of everything -- and being utterly dazzled by it.

He's the co founder with Neil Donald Walsh and worldwide executive director of Humanity's Team A nonprofit organization based in Boulder, Colorado. This organization is focused on helping people throughout the world awaken to their deeper selves and the interconnectedness of everything. Today. Humanity's team has approximately seven hundred thousand friends in over one hundred and fifty countries.
16 Their projects include Conscious Business Declaration Training and Conscious Business Change Agent Master's Program, transformational education programs, and business science, Spirituality, Creativity, Relationships, healing and conscious living on the Humanity streams. Steve is also the author of a new Universal Dream, will be discussing on today's program. He joins A day from Home, Boulder, Colorado. Steve, Welcome to Working on Purpose. It's great to have you, Lease, thank you for having me excited to be here. Why fun stuff for me too, Steve. You know, I don't know what I was expecting when I read your beautiful book, but it wasn't what I've found, Okay, So let me tell what I was expecting. I was expecting you to share the amazing story of how you built these two amazing companies to Silicon Valley and all the blood, sweat and tears everything it took to get where you did. And that was about probably three pages of the book, and the rest of it was your just ongoing spiritual unfoldment and how you were listening to, you know, the call of that which was trying to get up hold of you from within. It was so beautiful, Steve, and I hung on every word. I'm a person you know, who takes copious notes of all of my guest books, so I have pages and pages and pages of notes. So welcome. It is wonderful to know you, to have you on the other side of the mic Alas.
32 Yeah, thank you for having me, and thanks for those that generous perspective on my book. Yeah, I really I wrote the book for all of those on the conscious journey. There many of us on the conscious journey now, and it's a it's a delicious journey, but it has it has lots of arduous, challenging moments, and I, as you know, I'm pretty honest about what I confronted as I was walking on as I was confronting these things and dealing with them, and so throughout the book, I stop and say, boy, this was this is what I learned here, you know, and what you can learn too well, you know, it's interesting, Steve. I'm co authoring three other books as well. I have four so far that I've written on my own. But I am certainly I've got to figure the pulse of this ongoing rising consciousness that seems to be happening around us. Five years ago I had Karen Hoyas on my program and she wrote a book around purpose. Not forget the name of a book just now, but she is a firecracker in the purpose space, which is my space too.
31 And she said something I'll never forget at the time in her book and on air, she said, only one percent of the global population is fully living their purpose. She said, when we get to three percent human consciousness, we raise such a piece as actually possible. I thought that was worth getting up for, and I still do today. So I feel like the work that you're doing, and I really subscribe so much, Steve, to this whole notion of the interdependence, the interconnectivity of everything. It's just something that I got from watching the documentary My Octopus Teacher. I don't know if you've seen that yet. Have you seen it? Yeah, it's beautiful, beautiful movie. Yeah. I think that's what I got from it, Steve, is you know what I got out of your book is just this achingly beautiful interconnectedness of everything that's out there. So we can start with that, because that's just really what I got from your book and the work that you're doing. And I'm in Steve, you've got another follower. Yeah, well, thank you. Well, uh, it was it was a labor of love to write it. As you know, it's it's it's a true story.
32 It starts with me at age twelve years sold. I'm living with my single mom divorced mom. There I have six siblings, seven of us, and about a thirteen hundred square foot home. So well, you know, I'm probably talking to your viewers and listeners. We owe most of us grew up that way, pretty humble upbringing. And then you know, there I find myself thirteen years later as I am graduated from college at the center of wealth creation and Silicon Valley. Go go figure that. And then, you know, at least to some I burned my lottery ticket when I said, you know, I'm being called to something much bigger and more important, greater than this, and it was this called a conscious living. And actually, I think I'm going to bet that all of your viewers and listeners are being called to that. Now, I think the world is being called to that now I do too, and that's what I'm out to help Stewart as well individually and inside organizations. Steve, So I'm right there with you. We're arm and ominous, and I'm going to keep learning and being inspired from you and until further INSPIRER listeners and viewers. I want to start back from your very humble beginnings, and I really relate and appreciate, you know, the fact that your mother was you know, she's got her her own salary, and there are each of you had your own jobs because you knew that if you wanted anything on your own, you'd have to get it yourself. And I just really appreciate that. And I also appreciate and can relate to the message you got in high school that said, you know this, this intelligence test that you took said that you were quite average, and I think a lot of people can relate to that. I can relate that. I was actually told when I was in kindergarten that I was the stupidest kid the teacher had ever had in her classroom, and I believed her. So I just
06 learned how to study really hard, you know, kind of look what you did. Yeah, that sounds like by upbringing, right, because that's what I share, right, is after this guy, this mister Jacoby tells me, you know, Steve, you are average. You were just average. And I was like, man, I bet her, I bet her. Really put my nose down and drive because I got a you know, one day, I have a family. I have enough money to feed a family and stuff, and so I've been I've been pretty driven ever since. Yeah. Well, and I also appreciate it. And I was talking about you this morning. I don't know if your ears were running earlier this morning. I run six miles with my friend Charles on Tuesdays, and I was telling him you always ask who's going to be on the program, and I told him about you and told him how your dad had seen your your report card and saw all the bees and season there one year and he said that you were going to be a good candidate for putting toothpaste inside tubes. It was pretty inspiring. Actually, a boy, I'll tell you a bit of fire under me. So there were there were those couple of incidents there in those years that just really fired me up. And boy, once I got going, you know, and this is of course what I share in the book after after I share these accounts is you know, we do not want to and I know I'm singing to the choir here. I know at least this is your story too. We do not want to listen to these worldly voices that are saying your average, you're lousy, You're not going to go anywhere.
33 They have no idea. I think we're still really getting our arms around what intelligence is. And and of course the story of this book at where it goes, is into this whole story of of of a universal consciousness. It's animating all of life, that's one way of describing it. And so that means that we're a part of something that's whole, that's big, that's the entire universe, the entire cosmos. And that means then that missimson nepotence, when we align with that greater power, with that one become ours. So these crazy tests that we take as young adults mean nothing completely agree in there. So they're so myopic and what they're actually trying to measure. So then that takes me because there's a lot of things that you write about in your book, and you could see from the notes that I sent you that I know. I want to talk about some of the concepts you wrote back, because that really turns me on and I really appreciate how you here.
26 You're a young man from Virginia, you moved to San Francisco and you find yourself and network networking business that you first co founded with rich and you go on and you made this amazing business. But then you began to really start to understand that you were measuring your progress based on profit from what you were doing. And then later you became aware that it was much more important about being in the world that brings fulfillment. And this is the realization that completely redefined success for you. I want to hear a little bit more about just how that discovery came to be and what it meant for you. So, of course this is a mystical teaching. You know that it's it's it's who we are being then that informs what we are doing. And now science is coming in and affirming this too, saying that yes, we're part of a universal consciousness animating all of life. Uh. This whole Einstein thing that he never quite finished in his lifetime, this unified field theory. Now you've got people like sim Harriman with his Residence Science Foundation coming in and saying, we've got the equations you know, to thirteen digits, everything physical and not physical, from quantum scale to cosmological objects and everything in between. They are one.
35 There is one body. You know. They like to call it the cosmos or universe, which works fine. I'm more preferred the spiritual terms, like the divine, because that brings in the supernatural, which is what what we live into when we live consciously. So you know, my book is about that grow growing into that from this kid that's just growing up with this, all of us, you know, learning in grade school, high school, college, it was just it was the physical sciences that we were learning. All true stuff was trying to raise the goat bones and dust and six feet under at the end of our physical lives. But the new science, which is supporting the mystical teachings is that, my God, you know, it's a spiritual universe, which that means it's a that everything is indeed energy, which means then that it's a vibrational universe, and we have to work to set our vibrational energy, you know, not low but high. We all have experiences growing up where it was low right, it was dense, we were confused, it was sort of a good day a bad day, roller coaster life. As we learned about this energetic universe, that everything is vibration, this energy, and we set our own vibration point, we start living holistically with daily practices and things. Then we really come into the juicy thing in life. Then life becomes delicious and this whole being state thing is what it's all about. Where we that when I talk about living vibrationally, that's talking about our being state, you know, and not being on that
07 roller coaster I would call conscious living. For me, it's more like living on a raft where the raft is floating above that roller coaster good day, bad day that most of us experience growing up, where a vibrational state is all over the place. Part of conscious living is we understand that we're not going to allow ourselves to just just just float around like that up and down. Through our daily practice is through what we eat, that where we really are pay a good attention to that, what we drink, what we how we sleep, even clothes we were, and what we watch and what we listen to all of these things helped create this vibrational state, this being state that is truly beautiful. Even if the world wasn't challenged, and it is, we would want to live in this being state and have our doing informed by this being because it is, you know, it is. It is a delicious life. And of course I get to that in the in the back part of the book. You do. And you know, I'll tell you something, Steve, five years ago, what you just said right there, I probably would have been like, wow, that sounds way out there, and now I don't because this is what I've been steeping myself in.
22 So everything that you just said there makes beautiful sense. Now we take this idea of conscious living and now we poured it over to conscious business. And by the way, doctor Rogeasdia has been in my program. He's consider him a friend and as sociate. I've done work with him. Doctor Secerten, who you've had, you know, doing some of this training, is my spiritual mentor. I am on his weekly calls. He and he wrote the forward to my last book, The Great Revitalization. So I'm playing in your camp, I'm in your year's sphere. I'm somewhere on the concentric circle here. So so if we now poured over what you've been doing also in the in the know conscious business, I really wanted to how you say just a little bit about this notion of you know, how it comes over that business collaborators can design products and services that support and enhance the lives of people, the planet and all of life inhabiting the planet. And that really speaks to what's even Morris calls, you know, the beautiful business and that I also talk about. But if you could say a bit more about this notion of conscious business, so well, let me share this. You know what I talk about, this universal consciousness animating all of life, that there's this whole, there's this body, there's this super organism. I'm not this is not some new age thing. This is again science is affirming. Actually this is true. I am sure that in ten to twenty years from now, UH school will teach that yes, it's a spiritual universe or vibrational beings, all of this kind of stuff. There are huge implications for this huge So go
54 on and just run businesses for top line and bottom line growth, which is how can national business is run today? That's that microcosm is what's causing the macrocosm out of the world, these huge challenges like global warming with extreme weather that gets worse, and wars that are started, and GMOs and all these things. So what happened to me and I described this in my book in the nineties, as I was going through my own awakening understanding my God like I'm going to sell in the body of life around me that we can call the earth or it's actually the universe. And as I as I decided that was my new self identification, I was giving up the self identification of just son of Linda and Joe alive for the one lifetime. As I started living into that new reality, everything changes, it has to change. And so yes, in business, it's going to change. We can't go on just driving top line and bottom line anymore. We have to The new imperative, which now is going to be discussed in the boardroom, is how is this business or this organization or run a nonprofit now contributing to healthy communities and a healthy world. It has to start in there. And yes, inside that conversation there will be the discussion of profitability and cash flow because after all, their payrolls and these kinds of things. But fundamentally we're here to support and nurture our homes and communities in the world. That's what it means to be
26 part of this larger whole. So the whole business will absolutely go in this conscious direction. As we can create a sustainable and flourishing earth. It has to completely agree, and I'm not to stroyed that as well. Let's let our listeners of yours doing them for just as mention. As we take our first break, I'm your host, Doctor Elie's Cortez. We're going on the year with Steve Farrell, who's the author of a New Universal Dream, My Journey from Silicon Valley to a life of service to Humanity. 18:03 on Purpose. Thanks for staying with us, and welcome back to working on Purpose. I'm your host, doctor release Cortez, as I too, am dedicated to helping create a world where people realize their potential at work and are led by inspirational leaders that help them find and contribute their greatness. And we do business at Betters of World. Xteave and I've been talking about I Can need to write my own books, and one of my latest is that came out in March of twenty twenty three, is called The Great Revitalization. How activating meeting and purpose can radically enliven your business, and it's designed to help the readers to understand the state of today's workforce and what it really takes to be able to meet them where they are. It's about twenty two best practices. You can learn more about my books at last Cortez dot com or an Amazon if you are just joining the program. My guest today is Steve Farrell.
48 He's the co founder and worldwide executive director of Humanity's Team and the author of a New Universal Dream. So next, I wanted to get into another amazing concept. I love step Steve. I love thinking about ideas and putting in together. And I really like what she wrote about in your book, where you talk about different developmental theorists like Don Beck and Claire Graves and Ken Wilburg, who I am familiar with, talking about how the global population is not capable of fully understanding and expressing the oneness you're speaking of here. But then you go on and you share some of these different levels of development, and if you can, I can cue you. There's ecocentric, ethnocentric, and cosmocentric. Could you speak a little bit about those different levels and what they need, how we'd recognize them. Yes. So, what these developmental theorists share is that egocentric, which is just that means it's all about me and my world. And then the next step out is ethnocentric, and that's where it's a tribal thing, so me and my community and me and my church group or something. And then we go to the next level of consciousness, which is now earthly. So from tribal, we go to an earthly level of consciousness where it's me and this world around me. And then the final and highest level of consciousness is universal. So what the developmental theorists share is it about seventy percent of the population is in in either the ego centric or the ethnocentric, okay, which is the you know, me or my tribe. So this whole what we're talking about here now, this that this
26 world around us, in fact, the universe is one body. It's a it's a uh well, it's it's whole. It's it's a single body. Uh that where we're a part of a tribe or coming just from that individual level of consciousness, we don't really that's that basically isn't how the how the world works for us. It works really more in terms of what is happening in my world or what's happening in my tribes world. We can't really operate well in this with this notion of it's really the whole earth or the whole universe that's in this frequency together, that's in this body together. What I share is, you know, we can't be roadblocked by that and say, oh, because the developmental theorists share that, only seventy percent of us can get it. There's no sense in trying. What I go in just the opposite direction. I go in the direction of there's a drum beat right now.
22 Every single person I believe that's listening or watching this program, here's this drum beat of the world calling out to us that is sharing. Hey, pay attention, let's steward the earth. Let's steward each other better. This is we're all reading the same news accounts on weekends of people feeling isolated, people feeling disempowered, people feeling anxious and even depressed. Why because this world is kind of on its side right now. That the solution is really simple. It's what we're talking about here. It's living into this, into the fullness of this body, this one essence that we are all one actually with with the eight billion people here and the and the planet itself. And for that matter, with the multiverse. It's out there that the James Webb telescope informs usself and I share. And then I bring in the example of a family. You know, there are many functional families. In fact that most of us here, you know, there's something dysfunctional in our family going on.
23 We weren't stopped by that. Well, because there's this dysfunction in my family, we can't have mature behavior that grows into really something really beautiful. We just kept going right in the family in many cases came along. So that's what I'm That's what I'm suggesting here, and that's what I believe is happening now because there's this this wave that's coming in right now that I'm calling conscious living. We can call it a lot of different things. We call it that because it touches and reaches the most people. And in conscious living, we are feeling into this larger body. We're saying, you know, I'm a part of the eight people here in the planet and for that matter, the whole of the cosmos. M I am with you, Steve.
04 I'm out to help Stewart this as well. My focus is the world of work, because that's where I feel like I think sometimes and I love the world of work, but I want to invite listeners of you as you're invited into this fold here. We are officially right here inviting you to come into this with us, and I want to just presence a couple of things that in your book but I think are really compelling Steve, and really do make you think. So one of the things that you say here, you're you call this is Humanity's Team, which is a beautiful and important organization but encourages everyone to deeply consider a few questions. And the first question I want you to comment on is what if there's no separation between us and government and meet or she is talking to us all the time. I think that's incredibly beautiful and alluring and I can I'm you helped me get present to that. Yeah, thank you. Well, So here's the thing is right now, I'm in this. I've helped with as you mentioned in your introduction, Neil Donald Wall, she wrote Conversations with God and myself. We founded Humanity's Team, that five O one C three nonprofit almost exactly twenty years ago now, and we're an educational nonprofit. We have a streaming platform so I'm working with all of the leaders or most of them in this whole transformational education industry, including the near death experience community and the mediumship community. I'm working with lots of them on both sides. As you work with these people day in and day out, as I do, it's really clear. We don't use the word death in my home. It's a fiction. There is no such thing as death. I can promise you that read the book Proof of Heaven, or
37 go through our masterclass with this doctor Eban Alexander, a neurosurgeon who wrote that book from the Humanity's Team platform, or or spend a little time on our site looking at the free programs with the mediums Suzanne Gieseman or James van Prague or Karen Knowey or you know, they're all sharing us similar experience where they lift the veil and we can be in touch with loved ones, with angels and guides and by the way, and they train you to do that. I've been trained, and I'm regularly in touch with my sister who passed in the eighties, my dad, my Grandadad's story from your book. Yeah, Angels, this all may sound really woo, I promise you. I wouldn't waste your time, you know, trying to I'm not here trying to impress anybody. I'm just sharing the truth. I promise you everybody listening can be trained to be in touch with loved ones that are on the other side of the veil. There's a physical and non physical universe. So yes, I discuss this, and the thing is as we live into it, as we lift that veil and live into it, then we can be guided and supported and all these things we're doing. We don't have to just even go into our soul space and kind of feel into it alone. We can actually ask from the afterlife. You know, hey, this is really important. I'm trying to get this right. Give me a little guidance, and I promise you it will all come in. This is this is a part of our education again with many free programs. Humanity's team dot org with a why the
10 top it has programs. Pull down the free program section and you'll see lots of free programs in d E, Mediumship and so on. To get into this. And you you watch the programs and the maturity of these leaders that are speaking, and you won't if you don't believe in any of this, Uh, you'll most of you will change your mind. No, it's absolutely I'm stunting. I'm right with you. You you're way beyond me and the journey, and I'm your part. You're my Steward Steve. And so another thing that you say to have us consider, which I also have been thinking about and just rolling around of my mind, is what if our conscience and imagination are actually God's inspiration? Wow? Yeah, you know. So here's the thing. And of course again Neil Donald Walsh, author of Conversations with God, co founded Humanity's Team with me. Uh in the bringing up the subject of lifting the veil, when all of these leaders will share of this journey when we leave our physical bodies, of what we that journey into the afterlife and how it works, and this one presence that is pure love would be the two words that describe this one presence, which I call God or the divine. We are absolutely when I say, you know, there's this universal consciousness animating all of life. That's more of the science terms. Another way of stating that is is God, you know we're all Yes, you know, we're we're we're points of presence inside of the body of the divine
42 And again for people not on the conscious journey, that could sound very strange or new agy but mystical teachings, you know, back to four fifty BC Plato, Hippocrates, and then many other after antiquity leaders including scientists now are coming in and sharing you know, it is true. It's a non dual universe. It's in harmony. All of the things that are said about the divine, loving presence, non judgmental, non dual, it's all here. So and as we starts living into it, that's where life starts getting really delicious. Also where we start creating this beautiful world around us. So as our whole thing and Humanity's team are nonprofit, is to make conscious living pervasive worldwide in seventeen years by twenty forty. And that means to create a sustainable and flourishing world. And that might sound like it's totally impossible, but it's not, because the remedy to this whole craziness out in the world is as simple as us just living consciously. And as we do that together and we create a hardspace of that, and we can reach the Malcolm Glodwell tipping point, the eight percent or so boom, the earth around us shifts. And that's that's really the mission, my mission, and the mission of Humanity's team.
56 You're slightly working on purpose, Steve, slightly so, so to take that one step further. Another thing in your book, another concept in the book that I found incredibly alluring, and I forget who is that you or you situated that put it forth? Oh, it was Barbara. So the wheel of co creation is this powerful look at the whole systems shift as we evolve from Homo sapiens, which is what we are today, to what Barbara calls Homo universalis, which is our future, more enlightened selves. And so you talk about how this model shows the substantial transformation that every sector of society will undergo to reach this state. So I think that's what's what you're speaking about, and that's these ideas. These What I like about what you've done here in your book, Steve, is you have put language in place and concepts and research and science in place to help us make sense of these really big ideas that might be really hard for people to understand it first. Incredibly useful. Yeah, thank you, Well, that was my purpose was to and take people through the Silicon Valley account where people could see, you know, I was really doing grounded things, building some big organizations, and then just like probably a lot of your viewers, called to something much more important, you know, and people say, you're burning your lottery ticket. I wasn't burnt. I was building my lottery ticket. I wasn't burning my lottery ticket to be a serial entrepreneur in today's day and age, where you're just starting businesses that are going to be all about top line growth and bottom line
26 growth. Seriously, you know, at the end of your life with what's going on in the planet. I was clear back in the nineties when I left that I was going to be a very unhappy person if that was going to be my life, just serial entrepreneur like that, rather than bringing in what you're what you're talking about here going from homo sapien to universalis and that just means going homo sapien is where we're more living in our own body is just kind of the physical body, and Homo universalis is just as it sounds, there's a universe. We're living into the body of the universe. We're a set in the body of the universe. And again I will bet you that in ten years and certainly within twenty years in school will be teaching this because science is affirming this. You know again, even the Nobel Prize for Physics October last year it was for entanglement. Look up the definition of entanglement.
21 You've got two things that can be on opposite sides of the universe, there is no physical connection, and they're deeply affecting each other. This is getting into a spiritual universe and energetic universe. There's no in the science that we all grew up with. There's no way to explain that entanglement doesn't work right. So this new science, it's like, by the way, we a lot of times what we talk about is the Galileo moment, which might sound a little strange, but Galileo was a scientist in the early sixteen hundreds that had a telescope and was looking up at the universe and how it works. And at that time there was something called the geocentric understanding, which was at the universe was revolving around the Earth, and sacred text to the vibe.
05 All of these things were saying, yes, we were the center of the universe. And Galileo said Hey, you know what, that's not true. I have until I've seen it that way. Yeah, yeah, right right, And so in a sense, that's kind of who we're all, the galileos. So can't be one man anymore. Now it's women and men together saying, hey, you know what, you know, just the physical only go to bones and dust. We got it, you know, we understand the truth of that. But that's the least important thing because we leave the body, you know, and there's a non physical space that we go to. So we've got to kind of stand up speak that live into that and that's what creates this whole new way of living on the earth. So beautiful, Steve, all right, let's grab our next brax. People can chew on what he just said. There's a lot to take in. I'm your host doctor las Cortez, who got on the air with Steve Farrell, who is the author of a New Universal Dream, My Journey from Silicon Valley to a Life and Service to Humanity. Now back to working on Purpose. Thanks for daying with us, and welcome back to working on Purpose. I'm your host, doctor LEAs Cortez. As I mentioned in the last break about my latest book, The Great Revitalization to accompany that, what I did for you is I created an organizational assessment. It's a three page document sitting on my website at least Cortes dot com. You can download that assessment and you'll be able to determine to what extent are you actually running an organization that meets the needs of today's workforce. Enjoy it. It's free if you're just joining us. My guest is Steve Farrell. He is the co founder and worldwide executive director of Humanity's Team and also the author of a New Universal Dream, which we've been talking about so far today. So next, what I want to get to, Steve, is I want to get to the notion that you talk about in your book that in twenty fourteen Humanities Team began studying various progressive business models like B Corps. I'm from Earth Benefit Corps, and of course Conscious Capitalism. I'm on the board Conscious Capitalism. Two of my leadership books are informed from that lens. And you began to notice that, you know this notion of you know, B Corpse talking about three p's
07 of people, planet, and profit. But you realize that didn't quite go far enough. So if you could see a little bit more again about this notion of what can we what's the fourth P? Yeah, So let me first say conscious capitalism, B Corps they're terrific, They're they're stepping stones out in this positive and they're doing great, great stuff. So but what we brought in there in twenty fourteen twenty fifteen. Is is are two things. One this oneness that we're talking about of this universe. The other is this whole interior notion. And to study Ken Wilbur's work that we're all quadrants, all levels. There's on the right side there's the whole exterior world individual and collective, and on the left side it's the interior world, the individual and collective. And what he shares is in today's world, we're living in a flatland flatland because most of the focus is on the exterior world. We look at eat faces and what we observe with our eyes, which Einstein said this was an optical delusion thing hundred and two years ago. It was true because the interior is huge. It's what anchors us. This being state we talked about and so on this connection state, it's crucial. It's all interiors.
23 So these two things were the things we said, we've got to bring this to the extent that this is ultimate reality. There's this large superorganism and through this interior state we're communing with one another in the divine. We need to bring that in. So then we created a conscious business declaration. You can google that. We created it with the Urban laslow Over Club of Budapest in Europe, in Japan, an organization that's also a nonprofit, and then a university here in the United States, also a nonprofit. So there were four of us came together to create this Conscious Business Declaration. Again, you can see it at Conscious Business Declaration dot org. It's a very simple little declaration.
08 It took us a year to create because there are four nonprofits creating it. But it says that there's one body you know, and that means we want to be transparent, and that means that we want to always be focused on creating healthy communities, healthy homes, healthy world and these kinds of things. And it was saying then at the bottom that if we live into all of these things, this wholeness, this oneness, the interior, transparency, etc. Then business can be incredibly successful and prosperous and is going to create enormous positive change on the earth. So and then we created a conscious Business Change Agent program in Humanity's team. We're actually in the middle of a campaign right now where we invite people to become what we call conscious business change agents where all of this this wholeness, this oneness, this interior focus. All of these things are part of becoming a CBCA. Definitely checking you know that as well. My friend so listeners and viewers at fourth p is presence.
06 It's what he's been talking about. That's the fourth p is presence. Okay, So next what I want to get into, which I really appreciate it. I also addressed how COVID really, you know, as hard and awful as it has been, and how many people lost loved ones or lost their own lives, it had some really interesting catalyzing effects. And one of the things that you say in your book, which I align with in mind, is that people began they had time to pause and reflect, and part of what they recognize is they didn't want they didn't need bigger or more anymore. What they wanted was better, and I completely agree with that. Can you speak a bit more to what this better means? Well, the bigger, better, more, you know, paradigm is this whole top line, bottom line growth thing, and it's the whole you know. It started the American dream and its basis is beautiful, which is equal opportunity, equal education.
58 Fantastic. We want that for the whole world. But what we've seen is there's a ladder and you keep on climbing. This was part of my story there in Silicon Valley. As you keep on climbing into fame and fortune and power over and all of these things. And uh, and that that is where you know, we get breakdown. That's that's the which, by the way I share in the book, it's just a mirrage, this whole success thing, because what I what I observed in Silicon Valley is as soon as you get to one hundred million, you celebrate for forty eight hours. Then it's two hundred million, two hundred million. As far you know, it just keeps going. And I'm right, you never get there versus what we're talking about where you're living in this delicious day every every day of the week.
40 So uh, the whole bigger and you know, and more stuff it doesn't bring. I had a front row seat and Silicon values in the private jet world, I was in the even the private ski area world. All of that I was, I was living in. And I can promise you from being in the front grow there that that that is not going to bring you joy and happiness. I left it, you know again, to create this new way of living I was called to conscious living, as I believe we all are, and and this is the truly delicious way of living. It's it's the better way of living, you could call it. So where you know, two thousand years ago it was said, notice the birds of the air, they neither they neither read nor son, nor nor do they gather in barns. Right so, and then it was also said, you know, the kingdom of God or Kingdom of Heaven is within you. This is what this better is. This is there are many words we can use to describe living deliciously. I did, I confess grow up in the Catholic Church. But the bledom you know, no pun intendency, right, you confess, I confess. But the Buddha, you know, shared a lot of these very same things, These these same teachings came over to Buddhism and other faith traditions. So uh, and even gnostics walk around with a lot of these same perspectives. So this is the better that creates a delicious life for us. And when we do it together again, then we create temping
10 point. And that's our key objective I mentioned by twenty forty make conscious living pervasive worldwide, because you know, there are kids here in future generations. I was in the boomer generation. I've had a great life, but man, let's let's create a fantastic world for the youth and those future generations that are coming along. All right, a few things, Steve, This is so good and I use that word delicious quite a bit. So thankful we have the help of the younger generations. I just did a podcast about this. You know, the why generations taught us that we don't have to work eighty hours work or even sixty hours a week, and that we can work and through our values, the disease are teaching us that it's really important to do something that feels like it's aligned with your own purpose and it's it's doing something that's bettering the world. So I think we're in good hands. And then the next thing I wanted to bring up here too is just last week I had on Tracy super Barrett and she spent twenty years at HGTV, walked away from that ten years ago because she felt like there was probably something more and what she meant was better and she she wanted that depth at fulfillment.
13 That's, you know, something significance beyond the success that's what you're talking about. She's a perfect person to have on just before you. And that's the work that I'm doing too, Steve. Through meaning and purpose is helping people get access to what is it that you find meaningful that's going to fulfill you fill your tank with that goodness and that feeling of being able to see and sense the delicious of the world, and that will allow you to serve why you're here the purpose piece. And so we're beautifully aligned on this, Steve, and I so I that's the work that I'm out to help organizations do as well. And I'm definitely checking out some of your certifications to see how I can be part of your organization too. But you don't want to comment to anything I just said there, Yeah I do. I love your program.
54 That's why I wanted to be on your program. Working on purpose, you know, yes, yes, yes, yes, uh. This is the thing and really getting in touch with what our purpose can be where we really tune in this whole interior state thing, making a part of our daily practice, our attention becomes our intention, you know, and we can even go into the metaphysical with that to create it. So why would we do anything other than working on purpose. My god, you know, in today's world with what's going on. I tell when I in Silicon Valley, I put my head on the pillow only to wake up tomorrow morning, and the sooner the better. Now I put my head on the pillow, and I'm like, oh, my god, I love what I do. I love what I'm able to contribute during every day. And I enjoy sleeping so well and then getting up the next day to go and do it again. It's the only way to live our life is to work on purpose and live on purpose. You know. I had this when I lived in Brazil almost thirty years ago. I had that same experience that you're talking about. I had everything. I'll live in may chauffeur gardener. I'm traveling all over the South America. Didn't never care in the world. But I was miserable because I wasn't being a service, I wasn't mattering. I was just consuming. So I could relate to what you meant by the flight thing. So I've been going down my own trail where I'm just like what you've been talking about in the book is listening for where am I supposed to go next? Where am I needed. And the more I listen to that more the purity of the message that comes through is sovietful. It's what's been guiding me. That's why this show exists. That's why I have four books out, That's why the
25 programs exist. It's all a manifestation of listening to that and being obedient to that message. Oh man, yeah, follow a lease. This is the story. This is exactly what we want to do. I even bring in You might recall a lease in the book. You know a billionaire, a guy a kind bearing who had everything, even an NFL team, the CELC you know, I mean, he owned everything, and he was like, oh my god. You know, I haven't found it. Haven't found it. Haven't found it until age eighty. He starts the wheelchair foundation thing. You know. Okay, yeah we go. If we go, there's a still small voice, right if we listen to it, which is at least what you were describing. I listened to my still small voice. I left that to do all these things which are all purpose and making the world a better place. So this guy Ken Bearing does too, listens to it.
16 Oh, start a wheelchair foundation, give mobility to persons in families, so the families don't have to carry a person around. And then he said, I finally found it. From eighty to ninety two when he passed, he said, I found it, you know where he was giving himself away, which is one of the premises of my book. It's the third premise of you know, the more we give ourselves away, the better we feel. And I know that we've all heard that, but there's a great deal of truth in it. Beautiful. We're almost at a time here and I have I can't let you go without really presentsing for our listeners and viewers this beautiful idea that I hope that will really invite them into the space, and that is you say, what if humankind, you, me, and everyone we're designed to be in service to each other as we're talking talking about, and to the universe as a whole. And what if animal life and plant life and the planet itself were also designed to be in service. What if we are physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritual designed for this whole. That is so compelling, Steve, thank you, you know, and scientists are sharing this is true. I've mentioned to sim Harriman's name is his research is sharing that this is true, that we are actually designed to be a cell, a healthy cell in the body of this universe or cosmos or the Earth if we want to stay closer to home. I believe again, ten years, twenty years from now, they will teach this in the classroom. And I'm just sorry I didn't learn it earlier and could have kind of got my life more directed this way from an even earlier age than the age where it kicked
47 in, which for me was in the nineties when I really that's when the big U turn happened and I said, Okay, I get it. And once I started standing on this ground of understanding I'm a cell in the body of life, my whole life shifted dramatically. And of course I tell that story in my book You Do Beautifully. It's sort of telly, as you know. I read everything. I read it cover to cover. I take copious notes as part of my research. I'm going to send them to your website at the end here. But before I do all that, what would you want to leave our listeners with across the world? So I would say, you know three things, just real quickly. One, educate you know, It's why we created an educational nonprofit. Really with all the leaders that are in this transformational education space, so we can really live into the fullness of this consciousness of which we are talking to embody and express that. What good is education if we don't really live into it. And Elisa is saying, oh, this is what made my life so beautiful, I'm saying the same thing, So embody and express it. That's where the real beauty, the deliciousness comes in. And then three, which is what we're doing here.
52 We're not here just to talk, you know, or draw attention to ourselves, to engage others, invite others to live this way. My God, would we once we understand what conscious living is and understand that science is affirming it, this is actually ultimate reality that our eyes they actually deceive us, this optical delusion of separation. We start living into this wholeness, this oneness, which is loving presence. This is the thing that gets our lives right on track and that creates a whole new world where we live this way together. I'm in for that, Steve. I'm happy to help support that message. I'm so grateful that you crossed my path, that I got to read your book, that you were on the show and sharing your beautiful heart, soul, hol being with our listeners and viewers. I thank you so much for being the working in a purpose. Yeah, thanks for having me at least I appreciate it. So welcome, listeners and viewers.
